ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD
For residents the course fee includes all accommodation and food. Accommodation will be in Cripps Hall of Residence which is a pleasant short walk from the Department of Music. Breakfast and Dinner will be canteen-style service in the hall dining room. A buffet lunch will be provided in the Department of Music.
The hall, opened in 1959, was named after its benefactor, Sir Cyril Cripps and was designed by the architects Donald McMorran and George Whitby. It is a grade II listed building (one of only relatively few post-war buildings to be given such status).
All the bedrooms are upgraded for conference use and have large beds, tea and coffee-making facilities and a small fridge. There is an option of fully en-suite or two bedrooms sharing a self-contained bathroom which is accessed by a separate door (i.e. not from the bedroom). These are offered at slightly different prices and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
There are small kitchens on each floor plus a laundrette, bar and public rooms. Irons and hairdryers are not provided in bedrooms but are available to borrow.
